What is 143rd infantry regiment?

The 143rd Infantry Regiment is a regiment of the United States Army. It was formed in 1920 as part of the Army Reserve and was activated for service during World War II. The regiment was part of the 36th Infantry Division and fought in North Africa, Italy, and in the Pacific Theater of Operations. After the war, the 143rd Infantry Regiment was once again deactivated but was reactivated in the Army Reserve in 1948. Today, the regiment is based in Texas and is part of the 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
